“Enrollment climbs In Oklahoma” (News, Dec. 12) reports on a woman who is pleased with the Obamacare insurance plan she selected. She works as an artist, earning about $14,000 per year, and will pay a monthly premium of only $16 for a Silver Plan policy with a deductible of $500. That's the amount she pays after getting a government subsidy.
Those who must pay for their own health care aren't so fortunate. One of the least expensive Silver Plan policies available for an individual has a monthly premium of $211 with an annual deductible of $2,000 plus co-pays for many procedures.
It's probably easy to find people happy with Obamacare among those for whom taxpayers are picking up the tab. An unbiased report would have included an interview with someone enrolled in Obamacare but not being subsidized.

Of course she would be happy. Tax payers are paying the majority of her premium. That is a big difference too, almost a $200 difference in a monthly payment.
